08:00 – 16:00 (Monday – Friday) with a degree of flexibility

THE ROLE
As a
Network Engineer
, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining a secure, resilient, and high-performing IT environment. This role is ideal for a proactive, hands-on engineer with a strong background in network security and infrastructure management. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting the company's network infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, network security protocols, and cloud solutions. Your expertise will support the organization's transition to cloud-based solutions, enhance unified communication systems, and facilitate the implementation of innovative technologies such as 5G use cases.
YOUR SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Ideally you will be possess a blend of technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities able to work as part of a team to help maintain and optimise a secure, high-performing IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of network systems, including LAN, WAN, and wireless technologies, along with hands-on experience in managing core network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Expertise in network security, cloud integration, and virtualization is essential, as well as a proactive approach to monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancing network performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure components including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Optimize network performance through routine upgrades and continuous monitoring of LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
- Oversee IP configurations, DNS, VLANs, and security protocols to ensure system stability and protection.
- Provide support for AV solutions in meeting rooms, manage CCTV systems, and implement unified communications tools.
- Proactively suggest network improvements and collaborate with teams to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, escalating to third-party support when necessary.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team to ensure the reliability and security of the network.
- 3-5 years of practical experience in network engineering, covering LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
- Proficiency in both on-premises and cloud infrastructure, with advanced skills in VMware networking.
- Comprehensive understanding of network security, including firewalls (such as Checkpoint, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA), VPNs, and encryption techniques.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools, as well as VLANs, ACLs, and IDS/IPS systems.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a detail-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant educational background, such as a degree in IT or a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
