Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEMH Specialist School
Location: Shepshed, LE12 (near Loughborough, Leicester, and Derbyshire)
Start Date: August 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time (Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm)
Daily Rate: £90-£100 per day
Progression: Long-term to permanent, with optional teacher training available after 12 months

Are you a recent graduate looking to begin a career where you can genuinely make a difference? Whether you have a background in sports science, psychology, or simply enjoy working with young people, this Graduate Teaching Assistant position in Shepshed offers an excellent first step into education.

Joining a brand-new specialist school, you will support children aged 4-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will play an active role in helping students build confidence, engage in learning, and develop essential life skills.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting students 1-1 and in small groups inside and outside the classroom
  • Using your energy and proactive approach to engage students in learning and daily activities
  • Encouraging participation in lessons, sports and practical activities to build confidence and skills
  • Contributing to a positive and nurturing school environment where each student feels valued
