Supply Chain Materials Planner (£35,000 + Benefits)
Syntech Recruitment is excited to partner with a leading manufacturer to find two talented Supply Chain Materials Planners. In this crucial role, you'll play a key part in ensuring smooth production flow by managing material requirements, collaborating with suppliers, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Reports to: Planning Manager
Responsibilities:

  • Analyse Material Requirements Planning (MRP) schedules against current plans and collaborate with suppliers regarding necessary adjustments.
  • Work closely with suppliers to guarantee material supply aligns with production needs, maintaining minimal stock levels and managing transport costs within budget.
  • Proactively identify material shortages and initiate expediting actions. Communicate potential shortages and status updates to the operations team.
  • Track and monitor supplier performance, conducting regular reviews to drive improvement. Escalate any persistent issues to the Purchasing team.
  • Evaluate material planning parameters to ensure optimal inventory levels, enabling consistent production and achieving inventory turn targets.
  • Take ownership of material planning discrepancies, including over/under deliveries, and implement corrective actions, especially for shortages impacting production.
  • Manage inventory risk and participate in developing contingency plans.
  • Collaborate with the Order Management team to place timely orders on internal entities worldwide.
  • Escalate internal shortages to ensure parts are expedited.
  • Set up, manage, and maintain control parameters (lead times/safety stock) in AX, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to manage product or process changes effectively.
  • Complete all other reasonable requests from line management.
  • Strictly adhere to and uphold the company's QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) policy and related requirements.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in the automotive industry (preferred).
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including AX skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate work.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload effectively.
