Electrical Engineer

Our client is a multi award winning business with a long history. Due to ever increasing success within the market they now have an opening for an Electrical Engineer to join them in their Development Department.

As an Electrical Engineer you will work in a team that designs and builds machinery. Ideal candidate would have: An apprentice trained electrical engineering background with 5 years experience.

Electrical Engineer Duties:

  • Electrical building of machines including all wiring, control panels, PLC set-up and programming
  • Commissioning of production machines – both internal and external, including occasionally oversees
  • Working with, modifying, and installing machine automation (Allen Bradley, Schneider, Keyence etc.)
  • Developing and improving existing machinery
  • Fault diagnosing and finding solutions to a wide range of electrical problems
  • Specifying and sourcing of electrical components required for builds
  • Working closely with the design and mechanical teams, sharing ideas and concepts
  • Support production/maintenance engineers when required
  • Develop engineering improvements and systems in line with the company's objectives

Key Skills

  • An Electrical Engineering background (ideally apprentice trained) with a minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Experience building/fixing/running production machinery
  • Understand, writing and modify PLC ladder logic (Allen Bradley)
  • Competent at reading electrical schematic drawings
  • Basic mechanical skills would be advantageous
  • Experience with springs/coilers or wire industry would also be advantageous
  • IT awareness and application

Hours

Option 1

is 4 day week, Monday to Thursday (6am-4:15pm Mon-Wed & 6am to 3:15pm Thu)

Option 2

is 5 day week, Monday to Friday (6am-2:15pm Mon-Thu & 6am-1pm)
