To support their continued growth and exciting plans, they are looking for a Technical Insurance Advisor to join the technical referral team.

The role

You will be responsible for being a technical referral point for a team of SME commercial advisors.
As well as assessing and monitoring standards, you will be adept at providing feedback, suggesting improvements, collating statistics and providing coaching and support to the Insurance Broking team using your technical knowledge of the SME market.

As part of the Insurance Commercial team this role will focus on the quality of interactions with insurance customers, both verbal and written, highlighting areas where our people or processes can improve and develop an even better customer proposition.

The day to day

As the Technical Insurance Lead on SME your key responsibilities will be:

  • Call coaching with the broking team, sitting side by side to assist with calls and post training support.
  • Assessing that the correct procedures and disclosures have been made to our insurer partners on policies that have been sold.
  • Providing feedback to colleagues where issues have been identified and ensuring that any fixes are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Take technical referrals from the broking team.
  • Interacting with the training team to highlight where development issues have been identified.
  • Supporting with ongoing projects within the Insurance commercial team.
  • Escalating issues and ensuring you close the loop with feedback/training and resolution to issues, including investigating and analysing issues, reviewing data and root cause analysis.
  • Assisting with ongoing technical business projects

About you

  • Previous experience within Insurance in either broking, claims or underwriting, in the commercial property space is absolutely essential.
  • Familiar with Acturis insurance broking software
  • Have a good understanding of the Microsoft office suite of products, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrate excellent listening and written skills
  • Be a good listener as well as a great attention to detail
  • Be confident in your own decision-making skills and with conveying information to others
