Hays Education are working with a secondary school in Sheffield who are needing a Teaching Assistant from September 2024. This is a school steeped in history, who have a culture of high expectations for staff and students.
Your new role
Working within the designated Learning Support department, your job will involve working with students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will provide support throughout school working with students either on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, as well as liaise with others within the department, parents/carers and potentially outside agencies. This is a permanent job working full-time 32.5 hours a week, on a term-time only basis (39 weeks a year).
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working with children or adults with Special Educational Needs. This doesn't have to be in a school setting
- Strong literacy, numeracy and computer skills (Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel)
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work flexibly and be able to adapt
- Strong interpersonal skills
