Our client is a reputable Legal firm based in Dorset, you will join as a Legal Secretary/Assistant to support one senior Lawyer and one consultant across the Employment, Commercial and Property sectors.

You will be typing and completing reports and other documents with a high degree of accuracy and care, dealing with clients, answering calls, as well as other duties such as opening and closing files etc.

You will work as a Legal Secretary/Assistant with the following duties:

  • Provide any administration support required to the team. 
  • Assist in communication with clients, taking telephone calls, booking appointments, and drafting letters. 
  • Assist in the personal organisation of the team through the operation of a diary management system. 
  • Opening and closing files as instructed and assisting with research and searches as required. 
  • Dealing with payments and chasing bills. 
  • Updating records on their practice management system. 
  • You will learn and progress on the job and will have the ability to retain information and develop in the role. 
  • Meeting and greeting visitors, including clients, liaising with the postman and suppliers. 
  • Maintain and build upon existing client relationships
  • You will be based in front of house reception and will offer excellent first impressions to clients

About you: 

You will have graduated with a Law Degree 

You will be expected to work at pace to fulfil the workload.

While you will have a good typing speed of at least 50 words per minute, you will not be expected to have previously done audio typing.

This is easily learnt if you have a good typing speed and excellent eye for detail. 

You will be expected to use your initiative and have a high level of attention to detail. 

Have excellent IT skills 

You will pride yourself in your spelling, sentence structure, punctuation and word usage.
