We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant for a construction business in Altrincham. This is a permanent role with the opportunity to work with a supportive and collaborative team.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in accounts payable, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key duties and responsibilities will include:-
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Process invoices for payment by entering them into the accounting system
- Reconcile vendor statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for and paid on time
- Handle inquiries from vendors regarding payment status
- Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly accounts payable reports
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all invoices and payments
- Assist with month-end closing processes, including account reconciliations
- Prepare and process electronic fund transfers and check payments
- Assist with other accounting and finance tasks as needed
