My client based in Wakefield is recruiting a Logistics Co-ordinator to join their team which has been created due to an internal secondment. It is the plan that whilst this position will start on a temporary basis it will become permanent.

Your role will be to control and record the despatch and receipt of all goods materials at the point of exit and entry onto site and the arrival and departures of all visitors to EUK. Not recording these movements may impact on the safety and welfare of the public and it is the role of the Logistics Co-ordinator to provide this control and accurately record all entries and exits to site to ensure the security of the site, whilst providing a professional customer service.

Role Purpose

  • To work as part of a team to provide a professional service to all visitors, drivers and contractors.
  • Ensure that the despatches and receipts of all goods and materials, are recorded at the point of entry and exit.
  • Control and monitor the movement of all visitors, contractors, drivers, and vehicles around the site.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and report problems. Assist in actions for continuous improvement.
  • Be flexible in your approach to duties in accordance with the requirements of the business.

Daily Duties

  • Weighing all trucks into and out of site, recording all relevant details and issuing weigh tickets using the weighbridge and electronic equipment provided.
  • Direct traffic coming onto site, ensuring all drivers are wearing the correct PPE and are aware of the site SHE standards.
  • Accurately provide booking in times to customers, suppliers and hauliers, on a daily basis to meet the requirements of the business.
  • Processing the receipt of all goods and materials onto the computer system.
  • Managing and issuing of received goods and materials to the relevant recipient.
  • Processing the despatch of all goods and materials onto the computer system, and issuing all relevant documents including despatch notes, dangerous goods notes, export documentation etc. with despatches of goods and materials.
  • Audit and inspection of flatbed vehicles.
  • Check driver details and maintain the EUK database including site induction.
  • Receive visitors (including contractors) to the Company, record the visitor's arrival and advise the visitors' host.
  • Ensure visitors (including contractors) leave the site correctly.
  • Receive, relay and direct incoming telephone calls.
  • Receive and distribute incoming external mail.
  • Update and issue UK Sales Invoices.
  • Lead the initial response in the event of a 'Dawn Raid'.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and hazard free work environment.
  • Perform any other related duties as Management may require from time to time.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Proven Customer Service experience.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of situations as they arise with a mature and flexible approach.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Excellent understanding of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively alone and as part of a team.
  • Excellent PC skills, including MS Office software.
  • Excellent time and self-management skills.
  • Smart dress code (uniform provided).
