A great opportunity for an Assistant Garment Technologist to join a leading multi channel retailer in the Leeds area who offer hybrid working. They are an established business that have been trading for a number of years.. They are also known for their internal progression.
Description
- To support multi-product development across the companies brands, ensuring quality standards are maintained whilst adhering to Critical Path deadlines.
- Support to create garment specifications containing accurate information on manufacturing methods, including seam construction, pattern information, fully graded charts and concise illustrations for all specific product detailing.
- Support QA Manager with garment sealing process, attending CP meetings.
- Provide support with AQL approvals in line with CP.
- Support to review any proto/ fit samples ensuring that they conform to tech packs & size charts. Make any amendments as required.
- Provide support to QA Manager in approving all Gold Seal samples across Tailoring & Casual ranges. Communicate to with Buying Team, factories & Hartlepool warehouse on any production issues.
- Ensure samples are reviewed in a timely manner.
- Work with all suppliers ensuring size charts & technical specifications are clear & deadlines adhered to. Work with suppliers' technical teams.
- Overseas travel when required, supporting QA Manager to resolve any pre shipment issues.
- Regular communication with Buying Team to ensure that new ranges have appropriate size charts & specifications.
- Work with Hartlepool warehouse QA team to ensure they have accurate specifications & details to undertake AQL audits on incoming goods.
- Provide support to ensure that all suppliers adhere to Sedex standards or equivalent.
Profile
- Garment construction and manufacturing knowledge across a range of products.
- Able to assess garment fit and product/design suitability.
- Knowledge of testing methods and standards.
- Knowledge of appropriate wash-care required for fabrics and finishes.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude towards challenges and implementing solutions.
- Good communication skills/ strong team player.
- Strong time managements skills with the ability to prioritise and be flexible.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of environmental/ethical issues relevant to fashion supply chain/sourcing.
- HND/Degree in fashion/textiles.
- Relevant work experience within garment industry.
