Venn Group are working with a local authority client in London to recruit an Interim Network Engineer on an initial 3 month contract, to start as soon as possible.
The role is paying £400 - £500 umbrella per day (inside IR35).
The Interim Network Engineer will support an established Network Team and will predominantly be working on an SD-WAN migration project. You will work closely with Virgin Media and 3rd Party partners to migrate from an MPLS managed solution to the new SD-WAN solution.
The role will be primarily onsite – requiring 4 days in the offices (central London) and 1 day working remotely.
Essential skills and experience required of the Interim Network Engineer:
- On-site working availability – 4 days per week in central London
- In-depth Juniper networking skills: Switches EX, MX, SRX, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, VRFs, MPLS, VLANS, Switching and routing
- Excellent communication skills, able to work with 3rd party partners as well as supporting internal stakeholders with coordinating deployments and troubleshooting any issues
- Relevant technical qualifications/certifications: JNCIA, JNCIS or equivalent
Desirable skills and experience of the Interim Network Engineer:
- Technical knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls – policies, NAT, routing skills
- Knowledge of Juniper Mist
- Previous Local Government experience
- Immediate availability to start a contract
