Quality Manufacturing Engineer (Contract)

Pro Rata Salary:
£50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)
We're supporting a well-established manufacturing business through an exciting period of
growth and new product introduction
, and they're looking for an experienced
Quality Manufacturing Engineer
to provide immediate support on a key project.

extend or evolve into a permanent role
What You'll Be Doing:
- Maintain and improve the quality management system, including auditing, process control, and documentation.
- Implement and uphold quality assurance protocols to support both existing and new product lines.
- Support inspection, testing and measurement of components and finished products.
- Lead problem-solving activities, root cause investigations, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership to ensure consistent quality output.
- Analyse production data and quality metrics to identify trends and drive performance improvements.
- Take a proactive approach to continuous improvement across processes, systems, and practices.
- Ensure accurate and timely flow of quality documentation, reporting, and compliance records.
- Contribute to a proactive safety and quality culture through hands-on leadership and engagement.
What You'll Bring:
- +10 years' experience working as a Manufacturing Quality Engineer or equivalent
- Confident delivering NPI and CI projects.
- Relevant experience with metals and associated processes (Machining, fabricating, welding)
- Formal Six Sigma qualification (Green or Black Belt preferred).
- Confident in using quality tools such as 8D, PFMEAs, MSA, RCA, 5Y, etc.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with PPAP and APQP – essential.
- Excellent data analysis and reporting skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Effective communicator, able to work cross-functionally and influence change.
- Familiarity with quality management software/systems is advantageous.
