Finance Manager - Banking - Hertfordshire

Join a well-established commercial bank that is actively seeking a Finance Manager. As a prominent player in the financial sector, our client has a robust team dedicated to maintaining financial excellence and compliance. This position has become available due to the expansion of their finance department.

In this role, you will work with the Financial Controller to assist in the process of producing the Annual Report and Accounts and financial disclosures in accordance with IFRS requirements, with a particular focus on IFRS9.

You will have direct responsibility for financial controls, developing and maintaining financial policies, controls, systems, and procedures. This position is based outside of London (25 minute train from Kings Cross) and offers a hybrid/remote work option to provide you with flexibility in your work arrangements.

Role Overview:

This position is perfect for a newly qualified accountant or someone with 1 year post-qualification experience. Our client is also open to considering highly motivated candidates with less experience but a great attitude. This role offers significant growth potential, as the successful candidate will be part of succession planning at Redwood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Financial Accounting: Ensure accurate and timely financial accounting on a monthly basis.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare quarterly, bi-annual, and annual financial accounts and provide insightful commentary.
  • IFRS Reporting: Handle IFRS reporting and assist with the statutory reporting requirements.
  • IFRS9 Reporting: Contribute to IFRS9 reporting processes.
  • Audit Preparation: Support the preparation for audits.
  • Management Accounts: Assist in producing management accounts.
  • Process Improvements: Support internal process improvements and technical reporting projects.

Candidate Profile:

  • Open Sector Experience: Candidates from both Practice and Industry are welcome.
  • Experience Level: Newly qualified or 1 year post-qualification, or exceptional candidates with less experience.
  • Attitude: A strong willingness to work, learn, and grow within the company is essential.

Benefits:

  • Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
