Your new role
The role is an interim Senior Accountant (Childrens Services)- Business partnering / management accounting , to support the Finance Manager in a couple of areas. Ideally, the person will have some experience in either Childrens Social Care, or capital education programme or high needs DSG schools experience.
There is an increase in workload, and so someone with some or all of the above experience would be helpful.
- Preparation of annual revenue and capital budget and providing advice on budget preparation, monitoring and control
- Provision of a monthly budget monitoring report including variance analysis, cost pressures and
commentaries
- Developing financial system & reconciliation of accounts
- Prepare and present financial appraisal reports on complex projects and proposals to senior managers
- Project management and provision of financial advice, support & training to budget holders.
- Updating financial training manual and provision of financial training to Budget Managers
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant, and will definitely have work in local government. Experience in children's schools services, or children's social care services is essential.
Experience of DSG would be highly desirable.
As would education capital programme experience
