Payroll Officer

on behalf of our client on the outskirts of Knaresborough. Our client is

  • The business is still family owned and have stayed true to their roots when it comes to building strong relationships with both their customers and suppliers. Our client is now looking for an experienced payroll professional to join their team on a full time basis, to take responsibility for the end to end payroll processes across three different companies within the group. You will ideally have prior experience of working in payroll focussed positions, with knowledge of payroll processing, legislation and compliance requirements. Whilst payroll will be the focus of this role, during quieter periods you will also provide ad-hoc assistance and support to the wider finance team on general accounts duties as well.

Payroll Officer Duties:

  • Processing weekly and monthly payroll for employees across three companies within the group.
  • Assist in the implementation of payroll process changes as well as system updates.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant payroll laws and legislation.
  • Ensure that payroll reporting requirements are met in line with internal policies
  • Provide support to the general payroll team within the business.
  • Develop reports including MI to be provided to the Business Management Team.
  • Ensure that payroll records are maintained accurately.
  • Deal with any payroll related queries and issues.
  • Death in service scheme administration.
  • Private Healthcare scheme administration.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to finance team including purchase and sales ledger duties where required.
  • Provide ad-hoc support in the preparation of accounts and month end processing procedures.

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience processing payroll, with a strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements (pensions, gender pay etc).
  • Proficient in using payroll software and systems (Pegasus Opera 3 desirable)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, as well as an analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Quality communication skills both written and verbal.

As

Payroll Officer

you will receive a fantastic salary of between

£30,000 - £35,000 per annum!

Working hours for this position are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with one hours paid lunch break.

Some flexibility can be provided around school pick up's and drop offs if required.

This position is working in the office full time and has on-site parking available. You will also have access to benefits such as a company healthcare plan and long term service awards!
