Have you got experience in cooking for a large number of people - ideally in a school setting?
Are you happy to commit to term time only + 3 additional weeks so approximately 7 weeks off - nice!
Working 8am - 4pm or possibly 7am - 3pm.
As the cook you role will be to provide good quality food, for a range of dietary needs, using fresh ingredients.
Your key Duties:
- Provide a balanced menu and diet to a high standard within budget, by preparing, cooking and presenting home cooked food using fresh ingredients.
- Ensure current legislation/regulations are fully met, records are kept up to date H&S is met as well as hygiene and cleanliness.
- Undertake full range of management tasks for catering team, including supervisions, supporting training needs
- Take responsibility and ensure the smooth running of the kitchen
- Monitoring stock and quality control and then liaising with suppliers, building good relationships - ordering of supplies ensuring best value
You will need to have:
- knowledge of regulations and standards for the catering environment.
- excellent communication skills with a range of internal and external people, verbally and in writing
- experience working with special diets and allergens
- a passion for creating healthy home cooked foods with experience of cooking with a wide range of ingredients.
