Continuous Improvement Engineer

A global manufacturer of high value engineered parts is now seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead their expanding team. Trading for over 40 years, the business manufactures Automotive (mainly) components for industry-specific needs across the globe. The successful professional will play a pivotal road in ensuring that their high-quality products are not negatively impacted as they grow. Improving and implementing lean practices to ensure operational excellence is essential for this business to achieve its targets and continue to expand its already modern-day facility. Working closely with the Quality team for support, is an opportunity for someone to deliver lean tools and make a real long difference to the organisation.

Continuous Improvement Engineer responsibilities include -

  • Improve quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and plant efficiency.
  • Analyse current work practices, identify areas for improvement, and educate as to how to improve business and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform workplace audits and streamline plant processes.
  • Process mapping, value stream mapping, and identifying inefficiencies in productivity with a particular focus on layouts and sequencing.
  • Ensure operations are within budgetary targets, striving to exceed targets and control costs.
  • Provide the relevant training to staff on Lean/Six Sigma/CI tools and techniques.

Desirable applicants will have the following -

  • Experience working in a similar role - implementing solutions.
  • Conversant with using tools such as 5S, VSM, and Poka Yoke.
  • Understanding of modern-day manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Ability to implement CI mechanisms across the wider operation.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering education (HNC/HND), or training.
