The Company

The Opportunity

To provide robust and effective Business Partnering

A keen eye for the detail. Personally dive deeply into the detail and become the expert in all processes, data and information to provide up to date and pro-active insights. A superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture.

Full responsibility for the finance function, providing financial input into strategy and project planning, monitoring business performance and suggesting improvements to increase efficiency, insight and control that scale with the business.

Responsible for producing the monthly management accounts, forecasting, budgeting and annual statutory reporting. To include cash and debtor management and tax compliance.

Drive definition and implementation of standards and business specific guidelines in financial control processes.

Liaise with the auditors to ensure that the annual audits are managed effectively, and the statutory accounts are accurate, complete and delivered on time.

Ensure all financial regulations, for example tax, are fully complied with.

Job Summary

  • Contribute to the definition of the strategy for the Division. Serve as the key business partner to the President, in determining this strategy.
  • Personally become the expert for the business in all processes, data and information.
  • Deep dive into all the detail to provide analysis and insight into past, current and future performance, both operational and financial
  • Translate strategy into business plans and establish agreed measurable targets. Lead the business planning and forecasting processes for the Division and deliver to Group Finance on time and in full.
  • Actively manage cash flows with the Group Finance Director and proactively manage levels of Net Working Capital within the business.
  • Deliver the monthly management accounts on time and in full. To include a full understanding of the result versus budget and prior year, all balance sheet items and cash flow movements.
  • Ensure transparency in financial reporting and disclosures.
  • Define and implement internal controls regarding financial and non-financial operations.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Lead, provide guidance and facilitate best practice sharing across the business and the wider Group with other Divisional Controllers and the Group Financial Planning and Analysis Manager.

Personal Profile

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent with a proven track record.
  • Possess an ACA, CIMA, ACCA qualifications or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing people.
  • Experience of leading a Finance team in a medium size business
