Accounts Payable Clerk, Oxford (Hybrid), £27,000-£30,000+benefits
Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing invoices received for payment and undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. This role involves ensuring all vendor invoices are processed accurately, reconciling vendor statements, and maintaining records of all payments. This role is with an ultra-high growth entity in which the team has increased more than 5 fold in the last few years.
Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Payable Clerk:
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts payable data.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify discrepancies by and resolve vendors' billing issues.
- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
- Provide supporting documentation for audits.
- Maintain accurate historical records.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Clerk:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven working experience as accounts payable clerk- minimum 2 years.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
