Financial Controller

SF Recruitment are delighted to be supporting in the recruitment of a Financial Controller for a superb and rapidly growing business.

Remote working with potential for 1 day per week/fortnight in the office (based Whitechapel, London)

Having experienced exceptional growth over the last couple of years, our client is now keen to onboard this key hire in order to streamline and develop budgeting and reporting processes for the business.

This is an extremely dynamic and exciting business with highly entrepreneurial management. Current turnover circa £7m and growing.

Key responsibilities:

In this role, you will work directly with the CEO, CCO and COO and will own the relationship with the external accountant, to support the overall finance function of the organisation. You will be supported by a highly capable bookkeeper.

Our ideal candidate will be in charge of statutory reporting and forecasting and will participate in the wider strategy and measurement of key strategic objectives, outlined below.

As a Financial Controller, you will:

  • Act as the point of contact for the finance function, - Lead on management reporting, including annual budget, review of monthly management accounts and periodic updated forecasts, - Build and lead on a joint P&L template for the Executive Team, - Monitor and advise on VAT and other specialist tax relating to treatment of contracts, including tax planning and government incentives, - Support on salary reviews and impact on budget, - Monitor cash management, reporting and forecasting, including sales invoicing and credit control. - Act as a continuous feedback loop of how the company are performing financially. - Offer insights around fluctuations in marketing spend - Manage monthly reconciliation meetings on project spend - Measure the rate at which the company's revenue is increasing over a specific period - Track the inflow and outflow of cash within the business - Ensure the team are leveraging time tracking functionality and building weekly reports for exec team on project progress against budgets The successful candidate will be:
  • a qualified accountant, ideally with experience in a similar role - a highly analytical character, experienced in providing financial support at C-level, setting up processes and reporting, - able to lead and develop projects, manage budgets, and deliver to deadlines and financial targets, with attention to detail - experienced in sharing specialist financial knowledge with the wider team, - entrepreneurial: you can navigate in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision, - trusted: you can take difficult decisions and are resilient under pressure.
