Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to play your part in the global energy transition and develop expertise in the growing offshore wind industry.

Our client is a leading provider of strategic market intelligence and consulting services to the flourishing offshore renewable energy and subsea power cables sectors. The company creates value for customers by providing them with the market knowledge and insights needed for tactical and strategic decision making.

Clients include established market players and pioneering new entrants from across the entire value-chain including, developers, manufacturers, installers, government agencies, transmission systems/grid operators.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated analyst to join our specialist Market Research Team.

You will take responsibility for a key topic area within one of the company's market-leading subscriptions, providing our global customer base with detailed project updates, forecasts, and market reports. You will also support our Market Consulting Team with key insights, research, and analysis.

About You

You could come from a technical background and are interested in taking on a reporting and analytical role. Alternatively, you may have business and financial acumen or journalism and a strong interest in renewable energy.

You will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of offshore renewable energy policies, project economics and commercial aspects of the offshore energy sector, with a good knowledge of the supply chain and industry developments.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analysis of regulatory and policy developments, technology advancements and challenges, cost dynamics, project pipelines, site characteristics, and supply chain trends in the global offshore wind and subsea power cable markets. You will be given focus areas which could include geographic market or technology focus (e.g. floating wind, vessels).
  • Active lead in producing quarterly reports and webinars analysing key market trends and dynamics.
  • Numerical analysis, forecasting, modelling, and supply & demand analysis.
  • Data entry and quality control of databases.
  • Work on bespoke consultancy projects.
  • Product and business development to innovate reports, databases and other outputs.
  • Engagement with clients to ensure requests are dealt with efficiently whilst working with the Customer Onboarder team and IT to problem solve.
  • Engage with industry by developing a personal network of relationships across the supply chain.
  • Networking and presenting at industry events, and to clients, with opportunity to travel.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree ideally in a technical, numeric, or business-related discipline, or with strengths in research and writing e.g., journalism. A postgraduate qualification will be well regarded.
  • Keen interest in renewables and the energy transition.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent research skills.
  • Any experience of the following will be well regarded: Additional language skills, strong numerical skills, statistical knowledge, knowledge of MS Access/SQL, knowledge of Geographical Information Systems.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude who takes responsibility for the completeness and quality of their work.

Location:

  • Based in Lowestoft, UK.
  • Offices and work stations are very spacious with sea views.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary from £27,000 to £30,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • 37.5 hours per week with flexitime, office based.
