The Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) is the leading UK membership association for those working in exporting and importing. We are now recruiting a Senior Management Accountant to cover Maternity Leave to work in our Peterborough office (1 or 2 days a week) with rest of week home based. This assignment will run until the end of January 2025.

JOB BRIEF

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Management Accountant to join our dynamic team.

This role is crucial in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the Institute's financial health and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and accounting, with ACCA or ACA qualifications and at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Develop financial reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Conduct variance analysis to monitor and control budget performance.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
  • Assist in the management of the finance team and support staff development.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Participate in financial planning and analysis to support the Institute's growth and development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACCA or ACA qualified.
  • A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Proven experience in financial management and budgeting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
