Are you passionate about driving plant performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement? We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our client's team as a Plant Manager in Bedford. This role offers a unique opportunity to take the lead on their manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while driving profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Organisational Leadership:

  • Take full responsibility for all aspects of manufacturing operations, facilities, planning, purchasing, materials management, and team leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to set objectives, develop plans, and implement corrective actions to ensure customer success.
  • Grow and develop the plant operations leadership team to optimise performance.
  • Establish and progress towards organisational vision and objectives, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

Drive Business Performance:

  • Develop and align the organisation around key performance indicators to achieve targets.
  • Champion safety and sustainability efforts, prioritising associate and product safety.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly business management cadences to drive performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.
  • Drive operational and financial performance, managing budgets, reducing costs, and improving efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure success for all parties.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, driving speed, reducing waste, and improving inventory turns.
  • Communicate performance updates regularly to key stakeholders and support teams through coaching and feedback sessions.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading manufacturing teams with demonstrable results.
  • Previous/proven metal manufacturing experience.
  • Strong knowledge and application of Lean principles, with experience leading change.
  • Excellent communication skills with a sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and various continuous improvement tools.
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong bias towards data-driven decision-making.
  • Financial and operational management experience to support demand/supply pipeline.
