Commercial Accountant

We are looking for a Commercial Accountant to join this digital entertainment company. You will have a solid accounting background and experience of SAP. Working for a global company in their European HQ as part of the wider finance team.

The Commercial Accountant will report to the Head of Finance and have a fiduciary responsibility for financial assessment, accounting and reporting for commercial opportunities. The role requires a varied skill set covering financial acumen, forecasting, risk management and due diligence. The scope of the role may also extend beyond commercially related tasks in order to support the overall Finance department as required. SOX compliance and attention to detail are critical to the success within the role.

The main responsibilities within the role include but are not limited to:

Building of project P&L during development stages of titles.

Assessment of project P&L during development and post-publishing stages for titles.

Collation of monthly sales forecast for business divisions.

Perform accounting tasks related to titles, including development cost capitalisation, impairment, amortization and release.

Calculation of the developer royalty statement, including collation of sales and cost data globally.

Creation / Maintenance of budget template for Sales / Expenses / CapEx and also manage distribution and collection of each template.

Performance of other month-end related tasks as required to support the other Finance functions.

Review during Pricing of Product process ahead of approval by Head of Finance.

Sales allowance request reviews ahead of approval by Head of Finance.

Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Experience

SAP FI/CO experience essential.

  • Advanced MS Excel is essential.
  • Qualified or part-qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in European Finance organization and SOX environment.
  • Competent and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly numerate, analytical and literate.
  • Structured and organised approach to work.
  • Motivated to perform own tasks to a high standard, but possessing flexible team player approach.
  • Japanese language experience advantageous.
