Wood Machinist

The Recruitment Co are recruiting for experienced Wood Machinists for our client based in Stockport.

These are permanent roles.

Main Purpose of the Role:

The Wood Machinist will use their knowledge base, and production equipment to take raw timber based materials to produce components for onward manufacture and assemble various items of architectural joinery. This position requires a combination of technical and communication skills, as well as the ability to meet production goals and demands.

  • Ensuring compliance with all required Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality

standards.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and Quality

Management Systems, such as ISO certifications.

  • Following agreed company standard operating procedures.
  • Compliance with all Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work when carrying out all tasks.
  • Safe operation of various, complex machinery, hand tools, other tools and machinery.
  • Work closely with various members of the Production Team, including cross-

functional teams, to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout
the Production process.

  • Ensure work station is maintained in line with agreed standards of cleanliness and

safety.

  • Take instruction and information from Production Team Leaders to complete

products to the required quality standard.

Wood Machinist Required Skills:

  • Higher level Joinery Certification (City & Guilds, Level 3 Advanced Technical

Diploma in Architectural Joinery (450) or relevant experience in operating wood
working machinery, etc.

  • Considerable experience in a joinery manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety procedures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding production documentation (Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs, Architectural drawings etc)
  • Ability to work flexibly as required to suit workload.

The shifts are 41.5 hours a week. Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 5pm and Friday is 7.30am to 1pm.

The salary for this role is £30,212 - £32,370 depending on experience.

Overtime is available during busy periods.
