Butler Rose is partnering with a leading large manufacturing client to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Procurement Manager - Risk Management to join the team.
Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience
Contract Type: 1 Year FTC, with potential for extension
Location: Any UK site (Stevenage, Bristol, or Bolton)
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days in the office, 3 days remotely
Security Clearance: Must be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions relating to nationality and rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) as a minimum requirement.
This position will play a key role in ensuring risk management is at the core of business transactions with the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain a robust procurement risk management framework and methodology in line with company processes.
- Identify, assess, and prioritise potential risks throughout the procurement lifecycle at an enterprise, category, or supplier level.
- Analyse the macro environment using third-party risk platforms and media to identify emerging risks that may impact the supply chain.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including project procurement managers, strategic supplier relationship managers, supply chain management teams, and senior leadership.
- Produce internal briefing and communication materials on macro-environment risks and how the procurement team can mitigate them.
- Support the development of risk mitigation strategies and oversee the implementation of mitigation actions by the project procurement manager community.
- Conduct regular risk audits, drive governance reviews internally, and lead supplier mass engagement activities.
- Support the supplier onboarding and risk assessment process.
- Support and coach MEP Risk Champions within the function to enhance their knowledge and skills in risk management.
- Support the wider national and international agenda on risk management, contributing to internal activities and collaborating with customers.

- Experience in procurement roles with a strong focus on risk management.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful risk management strategies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently while building and nurturing strong relationships within the team.
- Passionate about risk management and able to inspire and develop others through commitment and integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with experience in risk management software systems (ideally ARM/riskonnect).
- Ideally holding or working towards a qualification or certification related to procurement and/or risk management (e.g., CIPS/World Commerce & Contracting/IRM).
