Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Design & Technology across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
- Develop students' practical skills in areas such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, and electronics.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular projects and initiatives that enhance the overall learning experience.
- Participate in extracurricular activities, including clubs, workshops, and school events related to Design & Technology.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in technology and education, ensuring that teaching practices are current and effective.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A degree in Design & Technology or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching Design & Technology at the secondary level is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for Design & Technology.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A passion for the subject and a commitment to inspiring young minds.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
