Senior Laboratory Technician

An innovative biotech company is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Laboratory Technician to join our Operations Team. This role is a blend of laboratory and office-based tasks within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a key point of contact within the company, working closely with the Operations Manager and supporting revolutionary science.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage supplier relationships, including obtaining quotes, negotiating annual discounts, and renewals.
  • Organise and deliver stock requests, forecast levels, and manage stock rotation and tracking.
  • Coordinate lab instrument service contracts, repairs, and asset management tasks.
  • Oversee gas cylinder management and monitoring systems for CO2 and temperature.
  • Coordinate laboratory waste streams to ensure compliance.
  • Arrange and track shipments, both internationally and domestically.
  • Provide daily support to scientists and laboratory technicians, contributing to laboratory-based tasks when required.
  • Support the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Committee and Biological Safety Officer (BSO).
  • Coordinate regular building maintenance works and provide occasional out-of-hours support.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in operational tasks within Molecular Biology and Tissue Culture laboratories.
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability to changing workplace demands.
  • Experience in Scientific Services provision and Asset Management.
  • Proactive, independent work ethic with effective time management.
  • Team player with clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and responsibility for own work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and software systems.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new techniques within the role.
  • Full Driving licence.
  • Degree level (or equivalent) in science or a subject related to the role.
  • Demonstrable experience in Pharmaceutical Laboratory Services or Biotech Industry.
