FINANCE BUSINESS PARTNER, London – West End, £60,000, Hybrid

An opportunity to join a dynamic and exciting organisation to work within the finance team as a Finance Business Partner. A world-renowned art institution is looking to fill a vacancy where they will be working across the entire organisation, building partnerships to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions promoting improvements and cost reductions.

The role will predominantly involve ensuring compliance and the delivery and continued quality practice. However, there will also be a responsibility to prepare accurate and insightful financial analysis. They need someone able to be calculated in the production of key management information including the preparation of the annual budget, forecast updates and monthly management accounts.

They are looking for a qualified accountant, with commercial experience and someone who is well-versed in financial monitoring, variance analysis and reporting.

Your Role

  • Provision of accurate, reliable and timely financial information including monthly management accounts, Operating Committee forecast, budget-holder reports and project reporting.
  • Build trusted partnership with the business to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions promoting business improvements and cost reductions.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, and the ongoing monitoring of actual and forecast financial performance, identifying any deviations.
  • Provide commercial analysis and support including, but not limited to, margin and profitability analysis, costings, forecasting and reviewing contracts.
  • Monitor funding budgets and work closely with the Development team on donor reporting and funds management.
  • Produce cash flow reports and prepare and monitor the cash flow forecast.
  • Assist in the production of annual financial statements and audit in line with the Charity SORP, Companies Act and all relevant legislative requirements.
  • Ensure necessary financial reports for external bodies are completed appropriately and in a timely manner, including returns for statutory bodies, government departments and other agencies.
  • Develop key performance metrics, appraise the current activities of the organisation, and identify and communicate opportunities to maximise revenue and/or reduce expenditure.

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • An Accountancy qualification with strong FP&A and Business Partnering experience
  • Experience in an arts or charity accounts environment (not required but desired)
  • Interest in the arts (not required but desired)
  • Awareness of the provisions of the Data Protection Act.
  • Advanced experience of developing spreadsheet models for calculations, record keeping and reporting financial information using the latest Excel.
  • Experience of working with budget holders to produce complex budgets and forecasts and the ability to work with non-financial specialists to help them manage budgets and control activities.
  • Internal audit experience.
