Assistant Financial Controller

Assistant Financial Controller - Barnet - Restaurant Group - up to £40k + Bonus / Full Time / Office Based

Our client operates a very successful multi site restaurant group with sites right across the UK.

We are seeking a versatile and experienced Assistant Financial Controller to support our clients in-house Financial Controller and coordinate a small number of internal IT queries with the external IT service provider. This dual role position is ideal for a candidate with a background in bookkeeping and a good aptitude for IT.

Main Duties and Responsibilities-
Finance Support

  • Assist the Financial Controller with daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts as required.
  • Assist with payroll processing and liaise with HR on payroll-related matters as needed.
  • Assist in liaising with external parties for the outsourced financial functions and support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Deal with basic financial queries and requests from the affiliated restaurants.

IT Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal IT queries, troubleshooting basic IT issues and escalating more complex problems to the external IT provider.
  • Coordinate with the external IT service provider to ensure timely resolution of IT issues and technology implementation.

Requirements
Essential-

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping or a related financial role, with relevant accounting qualifications (e.g. AAT, ACCA part-qualified, or similar).
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both financial and IT

professionals.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (Sage 50 or 200 preferable) and IT service management tools.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations and best usage practices in IT security.
  • Experience working in the multi-site hospitality, restaurant or retail industry.
