GSL Education London is looking for a committed and empathetic PMLD Support Assistant for one of its client schools in Newham. The ideal candidate would offer crucial assistance to students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment.

**Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with PMLD.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Support students with their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, toileting, and mobility.
  • Adapt learning materials and resources to meet the needs of students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student care.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and well-being.

**Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with severe special educational needs, particularly PMLD.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to assist with personal care tasks in a respectful and sensitive manner.
  • Basic understanding of child development and learning strategies.

**Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or childcare.
  • Experience working in a special school or similar setting.

You are required to have the following:

  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application through us
  • Two professional child related references
  • An Updated CV
