Insight Executive Group is proud to partner with North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT) to source exceptional candidates for the role of Deputy Programme Director for the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme (HHRP). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a transformative capital programme that will redefine healthcare in the region by delivering a cutting-edge hospital in line with NHS Hospital 2.0 standards.

The Deputy Programme Director will play a pivotal role in leading the delivery of the c£900m redevelopment of the Hinchingbrooke Hospital site. Working closely with the Programme Director and a multidisciplinary team, you will drive the development of new service pathways, workforce models, and digital healthcare innovations. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to engage with high-level internal and external stakeholders to ensure the programme meets its ambitious objectives.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Lead the end-to-end development of a Target Operating Model for the future Hinchingbrooke site, ensuring alignment with NHS Hospital 2.0 standards, NHS sustainability targets, and national guidance.
  • Provide strategic leadership to key workstreams including Service Transformation, Workforce, Digital, and Operations, ensuring seamless integration across all areas of the redevelopment.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teams to ensure the new hospital model aligns with the Trust's Clinical Strategy and delivers high-quality, patient-centred care.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with national and regional NHS bodies, local authorities, and healthcare partners to ensure the programme is delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable outcomes.
  • Manage programme risks, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with governance and quality benchmarks across the workstreams.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly skilled leader with a formal Programme Management qualification and significant experience in delivering complex, large-scale capital projects, ideally within the healthcare sector. To apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educated to master's level in a relevant subject or have equivalent experience working at a similar level to the Deputy Director post in a relevant field.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public, ensuring collaboration and clear communication throughout the programme.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the core values of the NHS and NWAFT, including a passion for improving healthcare delivery and reducing inequalities.
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with the ability to constructively navigate challenges and maintain progress within a large, multidisciplinary team.
