We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Financial Accountant to join our client based in Glasgow City Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for a Newly Qualified individual to fast track their career in the world of C&I.
The successful individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company's financial reporting and accounting operations. This includes preparing and presenting financial statements, managing month-end and year-end close processes, overseeing the maintenance of financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results
- Project lead on a new implementation project
- Deputising for the Financial Controller in their absence
- Prepare and present financial statements to management and external stakeholders
- Oversee the maintenance of financial records and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Develop and implement processes to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and accounting operations
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and provide financial analysis and insights
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ICAS, CIMA)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Experience in managing month-end close processes and preparing financial statements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
