Salary: up to £45k DOE

Hours: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri

Benefits: 22 days + Bank Hols, Pension, Training provided.

Must be able to drive for this role, ideal candidate will also hold HGV licence.

Aspire Jobs are delighted to be working with our client who are a well-established family run business and who are now looking for an additional member of staff to join their hardworking team.

They are looking for an experienced & qualified (city and guilds / NVQ Level 3 minimum) HGV Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be hardworking with a positive, 'cando' attitude. You will need to work on a variety of vehicles whether that's in a team, displaying strong teamwork or independently. The ability to follow instructions is essential within this role. Experience/interest in vehicle diagnostics and electric/hybrid vehicles would be advantageous as they potentially see this role progressing into that field.

The successful HGV Technician will: -

  • Level 3 qualification is a minimum
  • Have 3 years vehicle Technician experience since being qualified
  • Effective diagnostic skills
  • Strong interest in motor vehicles
  • Hold a full Driving licence no more than 6 points (minor offences only) HGV is desirable
  • Being able to work alone or independently
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Methodical and organised
  • Being approachable and helpful
  • Able to work to strict deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Have a flexible approach to work.

Job duties

  • Repair vehicles (mainly HGV but there would also be light vehicles to work on too)
  • Routine maintenance checks to ensure the vehicles are running as they should be
  • Perform diagnostic work on vehicles to resolve issues using relevant diagnostic equipment
  • Ensure vehicle servicing activities are completed in a safe and high-quality manner in line with both internal and manufacturer requirements
  • Good technical knowledge of a wide range of vehicles
  • Possess the ability to work well with customers, maintaining a patient and friendly attitude
  • Attending breakdowns on occasions
  • Potential to collect / deliver vehicles (if you have the Licence to do so).
