Jeffries Recruitment are working with large accountancy firm at the Gloucestershire office who are seeking to recruit a Purchase Ledger Assistant. This role would suit someone with existing experience in the role who has prior experience in professional service or who is looking to transition into such a role. This role will offer excellent career prospects and the chance to get involved in a get involved in other areas as time goes by.

Overall, Purpose of The Job

  • To assist in producing payments packs to suppliers and ad hoc payments.
  • To complete regular Supplier statement reconciliations, investigate queries and chase for any missing invoices.
  • To undertake ad hoc tasks as required from time to time by the purchase ledger supervisor to assist in the general duties of the department.
  • To assist the Treasury department when necessary.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • To have experience in purchase ledger duties, with good knowledge of purchase ledger invoice processing and payments.
  • To have knowledge of internal controls in a purchase ledger.
  • To be able to work to instructions effectively, in a team environment and to adhere to deadlines.
  • Computerised accounting purchase-ledger experience, not essential.
  • High attention to detail and, logical, and orderly in approach to processing.
  • Sound working knowledge of MS Windows-based software packages, especially Excel, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and the internet.
