The role

Are you looking for a rewarding career that utilises your project controls/programme delivery experience and your ability to build and manage relationships at all levels? If so, then we have an exciting opportunity for you at United Utilities (UU) as a Senior Project Controller, focussed on change control.

As a Senior Project Controller (change control), you will be responsible for setting policies and procedures on projects to maintain the change control process for scope, schedule and cost across a multitude of projects.

We are excited to offer you a flexible and hybrid working model that lets you balance your work and life. In-person attendance is required three days per week at our Lingley Mere, Warrington site to promote the benefits of face-to-face collaboration, alongside flexibility of hours to support work-life balance. Initially, you may be expected to attend more frequently to familiarise yourselves with the site, the team, and your role.

Key accountabilities

  • Establish and maintain change control processes for scope, schedule, and cost across multiple projects.
  • Support the Project Director and Project Managers in setting change management direction, developing policies and procedures to ensure effective change control through all tiers of the projects.
  • Develop and deliver change management training for your team members and provide advice and guidance to project teams.
  • Create and refine effective change management reporting frameworks, systems, and processes across a multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior management and key discipline leads, to drive continuous improvement and enhance collaboration and optimisation.

Skills & experience

To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Extensive experience in Project Controls, Programme Delivery, or Change Management within construction, utilities, aerospace, defence, engineering or infrastructure asset management.
  • Expertise in change management techniques and project controls.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships at all levels.
  • Proven track record in driving system and process improvements, improving technical capabilities.
  • Experience in delivering core services to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Ability to challenge and innovate, promoting process improvements.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to "deep dive" into situations.
  • Creative problem-solver able to identify issues, raise concerns and offer suggested solutions.
