VNA Recruitment are currently recruiting for an HGV 2 Driver (Dustcart) for our client based in Aberdare. This is an ongoing temporary position.
About the Role:
As an HGV 2 Driver (Dustcart), you will play a pivotal role in keeping our communities clean and tidy. You'll be responsible for operating our client's modern fleet of dustcarts efficiently and safely, ensuring timely waste collection and disposal services. From navigating through bustling city streets to efficiently managing collection routes, you'll be the driving force behind maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate dustcarts and other waste collection vehicles in compliance with traffic and safety regulations
- Execute waste collection routes according to schedules, ensuring prompt and efficient service delivery
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance or safety concerns promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading waste bins, ensuring proper handling and disposal of various types of waste materials
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate collections and address customer inquiries or concerns
Requirements:
- Valid UK driving license with Category C (HGV Class 2) entitlement
- Previous experience as an HGV 2 Driver (Dustcart)
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and traffic laws
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work early mornings
