Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Bradford (2-bed Learning Disabilities Service)
Salary: £13.00 - £14.00 per hour
Sleep-ins: £50 per sleep-in (5-7 per month)
Shift Pattern: 2 days on, 4 days off (07:00 to 22:00)
Are you an experienced support worker looking for a rewarding and impactful role? Our client is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to join their 2-bed learning disabilities service in Bradford. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on more responsibilities, lead a team, and provide exceptional care to children and young people in a residential setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and support: Ensure the well-being of the children, promoting their emotional, physical, and social development in line with their individual care plans.
- Team leadership: Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
- Shift management: Take responsibility for the smooth running of shifts, including delegating tasks, ensuring all duties are carried out, and overseeing the handover process.
- Care planning and documentation: Oversee the creation, updating, and implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Crisis management and safeguarding: Respond effectively to emergencies, incidents, or challenging behaviour, following safeguarding protocols and ensuring the safety of all residents.
- Daily living activities: Support children with personal care, daily routines, and recreational activities, promoting independence wherever possible.
- Liaison with families and professionals: Work closely with families, external agencies, and professionals, including social workers and healthcare providers, to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People or a willingness to work towards it.
- Proven experience in a residential care setting, with a focus on working with children and young people with learning disabilities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience in managing challenging behaviour.
Working hours:
- 2 days on, 4 days off (07:00 to 22:00), plus 5-7 sleep-ins per month, paid at £50 per sleep-in.
