About Us:

We are a dynamic team of 12+ lawyers and advisors, plus international consultants. Our team is ambitious, enthusiastic and passionate. We of us cares deeply about the work we do and about one another. Whilst our office is in London (Somerset House), 50% of the team are based internationally, so we are a hybrid company. We try to get together throughout the year for events, team building and company retreats. We are a multi-national predominantly female firm, founded in 2017 and which has steadily grown over the years expanding into new areas.

About You

You will be organised, have a high attention to detail, be a fast learner and have an enthusiasm for your job. You will have an eagerness to learn and to support the company implement new systems and processes as we grow.

You are confident to work on your own initiative and manage you own time and workload but you remain a team player, willing to support your fellow team members.

You will be based in the UK, and if you prefer to work remotely, you will have a suitable and secure home office to work from.

What you will be doing:

Your responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the team but will be approximately a 50/50 split between Finance and Administration tasks. You will work closely with the Executive Assistant to the Company Founder as well as other team members, providing support where needed.

Finance

  • Bookkeeping using Xero accounting software: raising and recording invoices and payments and monitoring overdue payments, managing remittances;
  • Managing the Company's bank account and basic budgeting and forecasting;
  • Generating financial reports;
  • Managing expenses including the team's expenses and client disbursements;
  • Liaising with the Company's external accountants (External accountants handle payroll, VAT returns, Company Accounts and Returns and Pension contributions);
  • Implementing systems and processes to ensure efficiency and automation.

Administration

  • Perform basic administrative duties, including email filing and management, purchasing office supplies, supporting the team with any client communication and international post as needed;
  • Administration of Compliance Tasks including "Know Your Client" information and using Anti Money Laundering software;
  • Minute taking during internal and client meetings, generating actions and follow ups;
  • Management of Consultant Contracts;
  • Proofreading, formatting and editing of documents.

Experience, Attributes & Skills Sought:

You must have:

  • High proficiency in Suite of Microsoft Office 365 programmes including OneDrive, Excel and Word
  • Experience using Xero accounting and bookkeeping software
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping and accounting rules and requirements for a UK Limited Company
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Fluent in English language

It's a bonus if you have:

  • Qualifications or approximately 2 year's prior experience as a Finance Assistant or in Financial Administration
  • Additional foreign languages
  • Interest in either the legal sector, arts, heritage or culture

This role offers the flexibility to work remotely or in the office, as well as the option for a flexible work schedule, including a 4-day workweek (salary to be adjusted pro rata). The role is targeted for a junior level with an expectation of approximately 2 years' relevant experience or qualification, with opportunities for career progression into a more senior finance role within the company as it grows.

Working Hours: Full Time or 4 day week accepted (salary adjusted pro rata).

Salary Range: £23,000- £25,000 based on experience, plus benefits (including Private Medical Insurance with Vitality Health and its associated benefits and discounts, Pension and art and cultural events, discounts and exhibitions.

Holiday Entitlement: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays (Full Time Entitlement).

Requirements: Right to work in the UK without sponsorship and UK based.
