Fusion People are actively recruiting on behalf of a councils who are recruiting for a contract Plasterer in North Warwickshire.

We require a experienced, qualified Plasterer who has experience of working in Social Housing. This role will be to become part of our clients In-House Direct Works Team undertaking Remedial works in tenanted properties as well as voids.

Duties and responsibilities:

To undertake various plastering solutions such as undercoat plasterers, one coat plasterers or finish plasters.

  1. To undertake dry lining works through both mechanically fixing or by dot and dab techniques and to manufacturer's recommendations.
  2. To assess, specify and undertake the fixing of partitions and wall systems as necessary. To carry out full floor screening works or patches repairs as necessary
  3. To carry out external rendering works including smooth and rough cast render, pebble dash and Tyrolean cement spay finishes.
  4. The post holder will need to be able to carry out plastering works efficiently and ensure that all works are organized in an efficient manner.
  5. To maintain accurate written records of works undertaken as required including measuring works completed and submitting paperwork on a weekly basis.
  6. To ensure that claims for all works over and above specifications are made.
  7. To order and control in use materials acquired from External Merchants.
  8. To assist in the achievement of operational job completion dates.
  9. To carry out competent risk assessments prior to execution of work and adhering to risk assessments and method statements implemented by others.
  10. To ensure that safe and planned systems of work are used and current appropriate, Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Regulations are followed.
  11. To participate with other trades in the general operations of the Repairs Works Section.
  12. To ensure the safety of the public and workforce.
  13. To carry out all works with minimum disruption and ensure the premise is left clean and tidy.
  14. A high standard of Customer Care in accordance with N.W.B.C policy will be required.
  15. To carry out coving and Artexing works to a various patterns.
  16. To carry out ceramic wall and floor tiling works including all edgings and finishes.
  17. Any other general maintenance skills such as bricklaying /Groundwork's.

We Require:

  • The post holder must ideally have a City in Guilds or NVQ level 2 or 3 in Plastering and should have at least four years related experience.
  • Bricklaying skills along with other general maintenance skills would be an advantage.
  • Additional training in the use of associated plant such as cement mixers, and in the erection and use of scaffolding and scaffold towers would be desirable.
  • Registration with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme is desirable.
  • Clean car-driving license.
  • The post holder must use his/her initiative in accordance with the codes of practice applicable to plastering works.
  • The post holder has a duty of care and responsibility for the use of plant and scaffolding and to ensure that whilst in their care the machinery is not used by unauthorised persons.
  • On a day to day basis visit the homes of Council tenants and to treat as confidential all information not directly relevant to any works. The Post will be subject to the CRB check.
