Job Title: Head of UK Offset & Partnership Management

Salary: Circa £75,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage/Bristol (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

An exciting opportunity now exists for a proactive individual who can work with a range of teams and stakeholders from our Programmes, Engineering and Operations disciplines, as well as our colleagues in our overseas branches including France and Italy. Reporting to the Group Head of Offset & Partnership Management, you will be responsible for the UK Offset & Partnership delivery, forging relationships with Offset Authorities, customers and internal teams to ensure:

  • Existing Offset & Partnership contracts & obligations are delivered on time and to cost
  • New requirements are understood and deliverable ahead of bid submission/contract signature
  • Offset credits or licence fees are claimed, liabilities removed and agreements closed
  • The Offset & Partnership Management (OPM) UK team continues to develop and provide excellence in contract and programme delivery.

We work with a range of export customers and partners, and as part of the PExO organisation you will be exposed to international teams and the demands of delivering against complex contractual commitments.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Good understanding, both commercial and culturally, the implications of operating in the various export domains.
  • A strong ability to develop good working relationships with Programme Directors/Managers and Sector Heads/ Business Managers.
  • Experience in creating positive engagement with MBDA's partners, suppliers and customers.
  • Expertise and a good understanding – during bid and contract negotiation phases – of offset contract and licencing T&Cs to be able to approve contracts before signature.
  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of contractual financial instruments, including licencing principles, tax issues, insurances and levies.
  • A firm understanding of financial and legal implications and regulations related to export control.
  • The ability to bring vision & leadership to the OPM function in the UK whilst supporting OPM's aspirations within the wider group.

The Role

  • Accountable for the delivery Offset & Partnership Contracts on time and to cost
  • Accountable to the Offset Authority, Customer and
  • Negotiate amendments to existing Offset Contracts where required
  • Claiming Offset Credits & Licence revenues, removing liabilities and closing Agreements
  • Act in the role of Business Bid Authority for new Offset & Partnership Requirements, ensuring they are understood and deliverable ahead of bid submission/Contract signature
  • Collect knowledge, best practice and lessons learned to ensure MBDA is appropriately equipped and structured with the right processes to successfully deliver Offset.
  • Provide advice, guidance relating to Offset & Partnership Delivery where required
  • Team management & functional management & development
