Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Lewisham
Position: Full-Time Learning Support Assistant
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Long-Term until the end of the academic year
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team at a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Lewisham. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a commitment to supporting students, especially those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND to enhance their learning experience.
  • Assist teachers in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
  • Support students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Monitor and track students' progress and report any concerns to teaching staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or similar setting is essential.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND is a must.
  • A valid DBS check on the update service is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine passion for helping students reach their full potential.
