Admissions Supervising Officer

Based in Kingston area

Hours: 8am - 5pm

Full time office based role (41.25 hours a week)

Salary: £30, 000 - £35000 per annum

Our client, a prestigious education institution in the west surrey area is currently looking for an Admissions Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Admissions

  • Provide high level customer service via email, telephone, and face to face communications with prospective parents, students, feeder schools and etc.
  • Foster strong relationships with local and national feeder schools to promote understanding of Institution's educational offering.
  • Ensure prospective students and parents are guided and encouraged through the admissions

process in a professional, helpful and efficient way.

  • Conduct in-person School tours and/or online meetings for prospective families and agents.
  • Liaise with members of academic staff to organise meetings with prospective parents and students as required.
  • Ensure prospective parents, students and feeder schools are informed of entry and interview dates in a timely and professional manner.
  • Track and maintain application data at all stages of the admissions process, including enquiries, applications, assessments, offers and rejections, scholarships and enrolments.
  • Draft decision letters for the Head of School as directed by the Head of Admissions.
  • Work with the International Admissions Officer to collate New Students Welcome Pack materials and mailing and liaise with the Marketing and Communications Officer to ensure relevant material is on the website in a timely manner and all onboarding material is sent out to families.
  • Ensure every student joining our institution at any time has the appropriate welcome and joining information and liaise with academic and boarding house staff as relevant.
  • Support the Head of Admissions in the collection, analysis and reporting of student admissions
  • Maintain a register of feeder school contacts, ensuring this is updated annually to reflect any

changes in Headship or key staff contacts.

  • Assist the Admissions and Communications team in planning, organising and delivering successful admissions events including open mornings, entrance assessments, taster days and

General Responsibilities

  • Always uphold our education institution's' Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
  • Maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance and conduct.
  • Adhere to all institution policies and procedures.
  • Maintain positive, courteous relations with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Attend INSET days and staff briefings as required.
  • Attendance and support at key School events, when required, such as Open Mornings and key all staff events
  • Additional administrative responsibilities and cover where necessary (Reception, Transport cover, etc.).

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, plus one years' related experience in an educational setting.(Candidates without a bachelor's degree but with equivalent professional experience are encouraged to apply).
  • IT proficiency with knowledge of relevant software applications including Open Apply, MS Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, and database skills are essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and cross-continent teams.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to be innovative and creative when thinking about student recruitment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Absolute discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Evidence of continual willingness to develop own professional skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • A proactive approach to work; have personal integrity and the drive to do what is best for the students and the School.

Experience

Desirable:

  • Experience of Admissions within an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of an additional language would be advantageous.
  • Prior knowledge of UKVI Child Student sponsorship processes and compliance duties would be an advantage.
