Gas Engineer
Location: Kent
Salary: GBP49,000 - GBP53,000 per year, DoE.
Hours: 45 hours a week.
Job type: Full-time, permanent
Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our well established clients recruit for an experienced Gas Engineer to join their ever expanding team. Main purpose of the position is to carry out inspections, installations, service, maintenance and breakdowns of commercial boilers and systems.
Responsibilities of the Gas Engineer:

  • Assist with the installation of new systems, boilers and related equipment and ensure safety compliance
  • Carry out repairs and deal with breakdowns when they occur, diagnose issues, perform repairs and replace faulty components
  • Troubleshoot problems relating to gas supply, pressure and system functionality and feedback to supervisor to promote other business opportunities
  • Carry out gas safety checks to ensure systems meet safety standard, identify potential hazards and address any issues
  • Involvement in plant room refurbishments upgrading systems, replacing equipment and optimising energy efficiency
  • Being part of the on call team (on rotation) for emergency call outs to provide on call services to address emergency issues
  • Responsible for Health and Safety on site
  • Completion of risk assessment, RAMs and other required processes to ensure compliance
  • Ensure correct use of PPE where required
  • Reporting incidents and near misses
  • Ensuring the safety of others when completing works
  • Carry out the servicing, repair and commissioning of boiler plant, gas appliances and plant room equipment
  • Completion of engineer reports, test sheets, service records and other required documentation
  • Obtain and log equipment details and part numbers in order to facilitate ordering spares
  • Responsible for equipment hired / required on site and its correct logging and return

Requirements of the Gas Engineer:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Relevant Gas qualification
  • Proficiency in using technology to manage workflow and reporting
  • Customer service attitude
  • Experience with asbestos is beneficial
  • CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving licence.
