Ageas have an exciting opportunity for Maternity cover within our HR Advisor Team, expected to commence from early September 2024. The position is a full-time, fixed term contract until 31 October 2025.

As an HR Advisor you will be responsible for the effective and efficient case management of a range of employment related issues, ensuring that challenging people issues are managed professionally and sensitively, to support a diverse, engaged and productive workforce in line with business and legal requirements. You will be the first point of contact for line manager queries and subsequent employee referrals, interfacing with employees, line managers of varying seniority, and all teams within HRD. You will work as part of a team of 6 HR Advisors, reporting to the Employee Relations Manager.

You will work most of the time from your home address in the UK, whilst utilising our office spaces for collaboration and the face to face interactions that really matter. The role can be based out of either our Gloucester or Eastleigh office, although occasional travel to either site may be required on an ad-hoc basis.

Main Responsibilities as a HR Advisor:
To provide a dedicated and proactive HR advisory and coaching service to defined client areas, in relation to absence and health, conduct and capability, grievance, family friendly matters, organisational change, flexible working options and a range of employee, and employment relations matters.
To lead on the management of casework relating to a range of employment related issues: This includes making recommendations, giving appropriate advice and support to managers, case review meetings, disciplinary/ dismissal / appeal hearings, and liaising with Occupational Health or other subject matter experts as required.
To develop and analyse management information reports to identify trends and themes and make appropriate recommendations to the Employee Relations Manager or HR Business Partners, particularly in relation to sickness absence, performance & attrition.
To coordinate maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave with line manager, HR Service Delivery, Payroll and the employee to ensure letters and systems reflect agreements.
To work collaboratively with the wider HRD function, supporting with generalist HR activity including projects to support the development of policies and HRD systems, consultation activity for changes within the business, and supporting L&D to update line manager training to reflect changing legislation and best practice.

Skills and experience required to be successful as a HR Advisor at Ageas:
Experience of interpreting, advising and implementing HR policy, procedures and best practice
Proven experience of employee relations case management, recruitment principles and practices (including assessment centres) and a strong working knowledge of Employment Law.
Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
Good information technology skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet etc)
Strong organisation and planning skills
Good standard of education with CIPD qualification desirable - HR Intermediate Certificate (Level 5 CIPD) /commitment to complete qualification (or equivalent experience)
