Kenny Recruit are looking for an Accounts Assistant who is ambitious, someone who is driven, someone who is eager to learn, someone who is studying and someone who has experience of the transactional responsibilities as well as having had exposure to month end tasks such as journals and accruals. You will need to be comfortable with Excel, happy to work with vlook ups, and some P&L analysis experience is beneficial. You do not need to have put the month end pack together; you just need to have played a part in it. Being able to put the month end pack together is something that you will be taught how to do, meaning one day, it is your responsibility.
You will need to have the aim to complete your ACCA or CIMA in the near future as well as have the drive to want to take ownership of the management accounts. Not forgetting having good attention to detail. Our client is someone who strives for the best, their product and growth show this. The office has a relaxed but professional feel to it.
Pay: £30,000 - £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Richmond - 3 days in the office
Working hours: 9am - 5pm
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
- Helping ensure timely and accurate production of the monthly management accounts
- Performing bank reconciliations invoice processing and payables management
- Helping maintain detailed cashflow forecasts
- Involvement in producing insightful MI and reporting on areas such as budget variance, performance against forecasting, cashflow and margin analysis
- Implement process improvements across all areas of the finance function — they always welcome new ideas, and if you find a better way of doing something, you'll be encouraged to put it into practice
- Support with year end audit process
- Other general accounting and ad hoc tasks
Requirements:
- In an ideal world, you'd have ... 1 - 2 years hands-on experience in a finance department or accounting role
- Exposure to posting month end journals and monthly management accounts
- Some kind of accounting qualification (likely part-qualified)
- High proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with a willingness to learn new systems as required
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfort working to tight deadlines
