SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? Do you have a nurturing nature and the patience to support students with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you, based in an SEN school in Erith.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored educational programs that meet each student's individual needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Help students with personal care, mobility, and communication as required.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Collaborate with the SEN team to develop strategies that promote students' social, emotional, and educational development.

**What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly autism and learning difficulties.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A willingness to assist with personal care tasks when needed.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
