The Opportunity

QBE Europe is currently recruiting a Senior Finance Business Analyst to join a well-established and successful finance team in our Leeds office. The Senior Finance Business Analyst will support the delivery of change to the business by leading and participating in all activities that enable assessment of business needs, capture requirements, design & deliver appropriate solutions and embed them into the respective business function.

Your new role

  • Deliver accurate financial metrics by analysing financial data, verifying accuracy and collaborating with senior leadership as needed
  • Deliver effective decision-making by analysing complex financial information, forecasting business, industry and economic conditions and presenting implications and innovative solutions to senior management
  • Develop knowledgeable recommendations that assist senior leadership in decision making by serving as a functional and technical expert and analysing financial performance to align budget guidelines and strategies with business requirements
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and utilize investment opportunities by interpreting financial investment data, performing trend analysis, evaluating economic influences and identifying potential risks
  • Drive continuous improvement by reviewing team financial analyses, evaluating gaps and communicating feedback to ensure accurate research, implementing best practices and delivering sound reports

About You

  • Part or fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Experience of leading through analysis in face of ambiguity and the ability to design simple solutions for complex business problems
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with ability to use multiple resources to gather and analyse information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems
  • Ability to engage with Business Representatives of all levels and communicate in a structured and professional manner
  • Motivational, inspirational and enthusiastic approach to team involvement and engagement
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel, Powerpoint and PowerBI, including financial modelling
