Finance Assistant Accounts Receivable

Grafton Banks Finance are currently working with an exciting business in the Lewes area. Our client seeks a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Assistant to join their team on an initial 3 month temporary basis, with potential of extension for a further 2-3 months.

As an Accounts Receivable Assistant, you will play a key role in cleaning the ledger, ensuring accurate financial records, and maintaining smooth cash flow operations. You will be responsible for performing reconciliations, allocating payments, issuing invoices, and reviewing payment terms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation: Review and reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments, adjustments, and transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Payment Allocation: Accurately allocate incoming payments to customer accounts and ensure that all transactions are properly documented and matched to corresponding invoices.
  • Invoicing: Generate and issue invoices, ensuring that all details are correct and in line with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Payment Terms Review: Assess and review payment terms with clients, negotiate adjustments if necessary, and update records accordingly.
  • Backlog Management: Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues in the ledger backlog, working diligently to clear old or disputed items.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Proven experience in an accounts receivable or similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Available on immediate notice, with availability to commit to a 3 month initial contract.
  • Ability to commute to offices (may need a driving licence/access to transport due to company location)
