Job Title: Flexible Skilled Production Operative

Location: Kitling Road, Prescott, Knowsley

Pay Rate: £13.32 per hour

Hours per week: 42 hours per week

Shift Time: Variable shift rota - 06:00 - 18:00 and 18:00 - 06:00 (Nights & Days on 14 week rota)

Job Overview

As a Flexible Skilled Operative at our printing facility, your primary responsibility will be working across various sections in the print finishing hall. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by handling materials, operating machinery, and supporting various tasks within the printing process. Adaptability and versatility are key as you may be required to work in different areas of the printers as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-run checks on machinery and equipment.
  • Operate wind on/wind off station and troubleshoot faults.
  • Monitor product quality throughout production.
  • Assist in manual movement of products if needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Maintain supplies and remove waste to prevent contamination.
  • Load inserts into hoppers using proper techniques.
  • Monitor bundle presentation and clear jams.
  • Assist in cleaning and maintenance of finishing lines.
  • Load and unload live news vehicles and palletisers.
  • Report any health and safety concerns.

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to take responsibility & ownership for the various tasks involved in the working area.
  • Ability to assist colleagues in other operations/ departments as required
  • Computer literate with good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and have good organisational skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised.
